Wind warning issued for Metro Vancouver

It's going to be a stormy day across the Lower Mainland, thanks to an intense low pressure system coming from Vancouver Island.

This has prompted Evironment Canada to issue a warning that southerly winds could reach as high as 80 kilometres per hour later this morning.

This could "toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break".

There's also a possibility of damage in the Sea to Sky corridor.

Motorists can check the road conditions on the Drive B.C. website.

Anyone experiencing electricity outages can contact B.C Hydro at 1-800-224-9376.
