Bicycle thieves were captured in the act of stealing bicycles on a security camera, and police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the individuals.

North Vancouver RCMP announced today (November 14) that on October 10, they responded to a complaint of a break-and-enter into a storage locker at a Lower Lonsdale apartment complex.

Two thieves gained access to the storage facility through an underground parking area. Security cameras captured them using a portable grinder to cut off the locks of stored bicycles.

The thieves stole three bikes, including a brown and gold $3,700 Intense ACV mountain bike with serial number VN16F00971.

Police are reminding anyone who uses underground parking and has property in storage lockers to take precautions when arriving or exiting through main entryways, such as ensuring doorways are closed before leaving or driving away.

Anyone who can identify the individuals in the picture above are asked to call North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311 and refer to file 2017-26467, or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
