      This something folks weren't expecting at the start of this year—a U.S. vice president who loves her Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star Low sneakers.

      But Kamala Harris's stylish footwear—not to mention her powerhouse debating skills against Republican Mike Pence—just might have made the difference in a Joe Biden victory.

      She certainly added a hip sensibility to the ticket that Biden lacked.

      But it was backed by substance, as the video below shows.

      Now This

      If Biden ends up winning the presidential election, Harris will notch several firsts:

      * first Black woman to be elected vice president of the United States;

      * first woman of Indian ancestry to be elected vice president of the United States;

      * first woman to be elected vice president of the United States.

      Harris's appeal to suburban women and urban voters certainly helped Biden pile up huge leads in cities, possibly helping to thwart Trump's onslaught of votes from rural America.

      When all is said and done, the Biden-Harris combo will have attracted more votes than any other presidential ticket in U.S. history.

      Harris also attracted star power to the Biden campaign in Arizona. Below, you can see her trying to get out the vote with Alicia Keys.

      As for her love of sneakers, check out the video below.
