After thousands of dollars disappeared from medical offices in Metro Vancouver three years ago, an investigation has led to a woman pleading guilty to fraud charges.

The New Westminster Police Department (NWPD) stated today (September 9) that it received a report in September 2018 about a suspected fraud at a New Westminster medical office.

The victim claimed that cash was missing from the office and that suspicious large withdrawals had been made from the business’ bank account.

When detectives began looking into the case, they soon assumed conduct of another investigation that also involved large withdrawals from another medical office in Vancouver.

A total of approximately $130,000 was stolen from the two offices.

After an extensive investigation, charges of fraud, forged documents, theft, and unauthorized use of a credit card were approved.

On August 9, Sabina Khan plead guilty to three counts of fraud exceeding $5,000.
