After two shootings in Richmond, male suspect arrested in Vancouver

      After two shootings at separate locations were reported in Richmond today (September 13), police arrested one man in Vancouver.

      Richmond RCMP received a report about an alleged shooting that occurred about noon today near Dyke and No. 4 roads.

      As police were investigating this incident, RCMP received a report about a second shooting at around 1:10 p.m. in the 10000 block of Granville Avenue.  

      Around 3 p.m., police arrested a male suspect in Vancouver, who is believed to be connected to the shootings.

      Both the motive for these shootings and any connection to the Lower Mainland gang conflict remain to be determined.

      No one was injured in these shootings, and Richmond RCMP stated that there aren’t any concerns for public safety at this time.

      The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone who may have witnessed or has information about these shootings is asked to call Richmond RCMP at 604-278-1212 or, to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
