B.C. Conservative Leader John Cummins to challenge B.C. Liberals' Mary Polak in Langley

B.C. Conservative Leader John Cummins is running in the electoral district of Langley in the May 14 provincial election.

This will pit the former federal Reform and Conservative MP against two-term B.C. Liberal MLA Mary Polak.

“My family home is in south Langley, and I hope next May to be elected by my fellow Langley residents as their MLA,” Cummins stated in a news release today (January 7).

Cummins also indicated that he will campaign on the same issues that other B.C. Conservative candidates will pursue on the road to this year’s balloting.

“Those issues include addressing B.C.’s declining wages by promoting the creation of high-paying jobs; investing in skills and job training; encouraging natural-resource development in British Columbia’s northern and rural regions; ending the province’s on-going series of budgetary deficits; and improving fiscal scrutiny and accountability,” Cummins stated.

During the last Federal election our house had the only Conservative sign on the block and Mark Warawa walked away with it. There is not a hope in hell I'll ever support that cranky old man. Mary Polack was not a Langley resident and was parachuted in by Gordon Campbell over local protests. As much as I distrust the N.D.P. it's clear she's going to be toast. The onl hope for the right wing party is a fresh new face but who would step forward into this mess. There's an old political saying "People always get what they deserve" That means we've earned Mr. Dix and Co. for not standing up against Gordo.
