Donald Trump's political rallies may be in jeopardy with less than five weeks before the U.S. presidential election.

That's because tonight, Trump tweeted that he and his wife, Melania, "will begin our quarantine process" after a close aide tested positive for COVID-19.

Hope Hicks has accompanied Trump on several plane trips recently, including one to the presidential debate in Cleveland.

She has also been in close contact with other White House staff, including Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner.

The news came on the same evening that CNN broadcast secret tape recordings of Melania Trump.

Her former senior adviser, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff leaked them more than two years after the First Lady complained about being criticized for Trump administration policies.

Melania Trump is heard on the tape complaining about working her ass off on Christmas preparations in the White House, before adding "who gives a fuck about the Christmas stuff and decorations".

Listen to Melania Trmp expressing frustration over criticism that she received for the Trump administration's decision to separate children from their parents.
