Earthquake hits area of Idaho's state capitol on November 6

      South of British Columbia, an earthquake occurred in Idaho in the area of the state capitol around lunchtime today (November 6).

      The temblor struck at 12:29 p.m. local time (11:29 a.m. B.C. time).

      The U.S. Geological Survey measured it as a 4.0-magnitude quake.

      At a depth of 10 kilometres (six miles), the epicentre was located 27 kilometres (17 miles) northwest of Stanley, Idaho; 110 kilometres (68 miles) northeast of the state capitol of Boise, Idaho; and 111 kilometres (69 miles) northeast of Garden City (69 miles) northeast of Garden City, Idaho.
