Yesterday, a fatal stabbing attack involving several people at a North Shore library sent shockwaves across the Lower Mainland.

As North Vancouver RCMP charged a suspect in that case, another stabbing took place in B.C. today, this time in the Okanagan.

West Kelowna RCMP announced today (March 28) that just before 2 a.m. today, police were called to the Postill Lake Road area after several victims were reportedly stabbed at an outdoor gathering.

Officers found five victims suffering from stab wounds.

Two male youths and three adult men were taken to hospital for treatment in unspecified condition.

Officers arrested one adult male suspect and is in police custody. RCMP have not yet stated if there was any relationship between the suspect and the victims but investigators do not believe there is any further risk to the public.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact West Kelowna RCMP at 250-768-2880.
