B.C.'s River Forecast Centre has cautioned Interior residents of rising water levels in rivers that were linked to major washouts and road closures earlier this month.

The high streamflow advisory has been issued for the Tulameen, Similkameen, Coldwater, and Nicola rivers.

It came shortly before the second in a series of atmospheric rivers has arrived in B.C. this weekend.

Rainfall is expected to be heavy on the South Coast, with the potential for spillover of moist air across the Cascade and Coast Mountains and into Interior watersheds," the advisory states. "Warming is also expected to contribute to snowmelt at mid-elevations and rain-on-snow runoff."

In advance of the storm, the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen issued an evacuation alert for properties along the Similkameen and Tulameen rivers.
