More details have been revealed as a homicide investigation into the fatal stabbing of an individual at Whistler continues on.
According to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team, around 2:09 a.m. on August 14, Sea to Sky RCMP responded to a report about a male suffering from a stabbing had attended the Whistler Medical Clinic.
Upon arrival at the clinic, police learned that the victim had died from his injuries.
The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Henry Stanley Garcia Molina. He wasn't known to police and isn't believed to be involved in the Lower Mainland gang conflict.
Based upon witness accounts, investigators determined that Molina was attacked between 1:45 and 2 a.m. in front of the Bearfoot Bistro entrance at 4121 Village Green in the Whistler Village.
Investigators have identified several persons of interest and believe that there are several individuals involved in this murder.
In addition, investigators also believe there are several witnesses who have not yet spoken with police.
Molina’s family made a public appeal for information and issued this statement:
“Henry’s life was taken senselessly in an act of violence while in Whistler Village simply trying to grab a taxi back to his hotel. Henry’s life did not deserve to be taken away so brutally. His loss has been the most painful thing that any parent has had to go through. Henry left a positive impact on everyone he has ever met, including all his family members, his friends from school and various sports teams he was a part of. Henry was very involved with the community and admired by many. He was a kind hearted young man who was always willing to help others.”
