Kevin Lim and Sonia Sidhu have thanked the management team at Rogers for supporting their show after five years on KiSS FM.

But they're no longer on the Vancouver radio station on 104.9 FM because it's become something new: SONIC - The New Alternative.

KiSS Radio will continue on the airwaves in Edmonton, Ottawa, and Toronto, according to a company tweet.

"KiSS is changing and unfortunately we were informed that we won't be part of this new chapter," Kevin and Sonia said in a social-media message. "Although this comes with mixed emotions, we want to express one overwhelming feeling: gratitude. First and foremost, thank YOU...our loyal listeners and now friends.

"We are so incredibly thankful for everyone who shared their mornings with us and invited us into their lives through the radio and our podcast," they continued. "We've never taken you for granted."

The departure of the two hosts coincided with the station running hours upon hours of one song, Rage Against the Machine's "Killing in the Name".

That attracted attention around the world, with articles appearing in the Guardian, Pitchfork, and Rolling Stone and a news story on the CBS News site.

In the meantime, fans of Kevin and Sonia have been expressing their sorrow over social media. You can read some of the comments below.
