A vehicle crashed into a storefront in South Granville last night, resulting in a fatality.

Shortly before 8:30 p.m. on November 13, a single vehicle drove off Granville Street on to the sidewalk, and crashed into the front of the Williams Sonoma homeware store located at 2903 Granville Street at West 13th Avenue.

Vancouver police, firefighters, and ambulance service all responded. Unfortunately, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger in the vehicle was taken to hospital in serious but stable condition.

No other vehicles or pedestrians were involved in the collision, and no further details have been released yet.

This crash was Vancouver’s seventh fatal motor-vehicle collision of 2020.

The collision remains under investigation and any witnesses or anyone with footage is asked to contact investigators at the Vancouver Police Department.

This collision follows a vehicle crash into another store only a few blocks away last month.

Two vehicles collided at the intersection of West 11th Avenue and Granville Street around 4:30 p.m. on October 9.

One vehicle crashed into the storefront of Purdys Chocolatier, and a male pedestrian was struck and thrown through the window of the store.

The victim was taken to hospital in stable condition.
