A man is in custody in connection with Vancouver's third homicide of 2022.

On May 1, Jian Ying “Angela” Du, 51, was found dead from stab wounds in an apartment near the corner of Ontario Street and 1st Avenue.

Police made the discovery after responding to reports around 2:30 a.m. of a disturbance in the building.

The B.C. Prosecution Service has approved a charge of second-degree murder against Jian Wei Wang, 50.

The allegation has not been proven in court.
