An investigation is underway after a man was found dead inside a vehicle that was on fire in Langley.
According to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT), Langley RCMP responded to a call around 7 p.m. on July 20 about a vehicle fire in the 8200 block of 197th Street in Langley.
After the fire was extinguished, a body was found inside the vehicle, which was a Red Ford F150 with body-kit modifications.
The victim is described as a white male but IHIT stated that “further identification is pending” and investigators are working on determining if this incident is related to any other conflicts in the Lower Mainland.
In addition, IHIT stated that “the location of the burned vehicle and victim are not connected to the area they were found in”.
IHIT is leading the investigation, and is working with ICBC, the Langley RCMP, the B.C. Coroners Service, and the Integrated Forensic Identification Section.
Anyone with dashcam footage who may have been driving along 200th Street and 82nd Avenue around 6:45 p.m. on July 20 or with more information about this incident is asked to contact IHIT at 1-877-551-4448 or by email.
