Family members and police are concerned about the well-being of a missing teenager from Vancouver Island, who may be in Victoria or Surrey and who hasn’t been seen or heard from for over a week.

On July 8, West Shore RCMP had issued a news release, asking for public assistance in locating 15-year-old Lia Barker from Colwood, a city located southwest of Victoria.

She was last seen in Downtown Victoria on June 30.

Surrey RCMP reissued the call for public help today (July 12).

Barker is described as a white female who is 173 centimetres (five-feet, eight-inches) tall and weighs 54 kilograms (119 pounds). She has shoulder-length brown hair and blue eyes.

She has been known to spend time in the Victoria area and in Surrey.

Anyone who has information of her whereabouts is asked to contact West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264 or, to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
