New CBC shows with Rosemary Barton and Vassy Kapelos to boost political and COVID-19 coverage

      CBC is expanding its political and health coverage with new weekly shows that will premiere next month.

      CBC News announced today (October 20) that it is launching a new weekend morning program: Rosemary Barton Live on November 1 on CBC News Network (7 to 9 a.m. PT), CBC TV (8 a.m. PT), and CBC Gem.

      Each Sunday, host Rosemary Barton will address political issues across Canada in a live format.

      Barton will continue to host the National’s At Issue panel discussions and lead CBC News political specials.

      Meanwhile, the new weekday program CBC News Live with Vassy Kapelos (2 p.m. PT), which begins on November 2, will cover the latest COVID-19 updates and political coverage.

      The CBC News Special: America Votes, hosted by the National’s Adrienne Arsenault with Andrew Chang and Ian Hanomansing, will be broadcast from 5 to 9 p.m. PT on November 3 to cover the U.S. presidential election, followed by CBC News Special: After the Vote and CBC News: America Votes Overnight.
