A man is dead following "multiple shooting scenes" in the City of Langley and at least one more incident in Langley Township.

According to a Langley RCMP news release, officers believe that he's the "lone suspect".

Two shooting victims died as well and two others are injured.

"This is an active investigation with multiple areas of the Langley City and Langley Township closed to the public," the RCMP stated. "We are asking the public to stay out of the following areas: 200 street and Langley Bypass; Parking lot of Cascades Casino located at Fraser Highway and 204 Street, Langley Bus Loop located a Logan Avenue and Glover Road."

No names have been released at this point.

At 6:19 a.m., a B.C. emergency alert was issued warning the public to stay away from the downtown core of Langley this morning.

The suspect was described at that time as Caucasian with dark hair, wearing brown Carhartt coveralls, and a blue and green camo T-shirt with a red logo on the right sleeve.

The message also stated that he was associated to a white car.

The shootings come a few days after U.S. podcaster Joe Rogan quipped about shooting homeless people in response to the Los Angeles County district attorney's approach to certain crimes.

An earlier version of this story stated that the suspect was in custody.
