After a young adult was found dead in an Okanagan city, investigators are asking for the public’s help in solving the mystery of what is now being deemed a homicide case.

Around 6 a.m. on September 5, B.C. Emergency Health Services contacted Penticton RCMP officers about an unresponsive individual in a school field in the 100 block of Eckhart Avenue in Penticton.

The victim was suffering from critical injuries and was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators determined that the death was a homicide and identified the victim as 22-year-old Taig Savage of Penticton.

When Savage was last seen in the area on foot, he was wearing a hooded sweatshirt with grey pants.

Penticton RCMP stated that they are releasing his identity and photos in the hopes of determining what happened, and are asking anyone with information about this incident, anyone who saw him in the area on September 5, or who  had contact with him during the night or early morning to call Penticton RCMP at 250-492-4300.
