It turns out that one doesn’t have to buy an expensive detached home to have a sense of living in one.

      A half duplex may do.

A Vancouver upper half duplex in the fashionable neighbourhood of Kitsilano has sold just one day after it was listed.

What’s special about this residence with three bedrooms and two baths?

Listing agent Engel & Volkers Vancouver described 2265 West 13th Avenue as one that “feels like a detached home”.

It has “windows on all 4 sides, a front and a back porch and no shared walls”.

      The home has two levels.

The half duplex sold on January 11 for $2.5 million.

The home has a 2022 assessment of $1,819,000.

This means that the property was sold 37.4 percent over its current valuation.

It was listed a day earlier for $2,498,000.

A January 4 listing for $2,680,000 was terminated.
