A physical altercation had fatal consequences last night (October 22) in New Westminster.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is seeking witnesses to a fight around Bole and Maple streets at 9:24 p.m.

When New Westminster police arrived on the scene, officers found a man with "significant injuries".

He died after being transported to Royal Columbian Hospital.

"Police are in the early stages of this investigation and are currently in the evidence gathering phase, and no further information will be provided at this time," New Westminster police said in a news release.
