Update (January 27): News1130 reports that investigators have determined the remains found on the beach are "not human".

Original post (January 26): Another human foot may have just washed up on the B.C. coast.

Vancouver police say a person reported finding after 2 p.m. today (January 26) what appears to be human bones inside a boot.

The boot was discovered in the sand along the shoreline at the dog park by the Vancouver Maritime Museum, at the foot of Arbutus Street in Kitsilano.

The B.C. Coroners Service has been called in, and the area has been cordoned off by police.

"There is no indication at this early stage in the investigation how the remains came to be there, and further forensic examination by the BC Coroners Service will be required," a VPD statement says.

Several human feet have been found on the B.C. coast in recent years.
