Teenager charged in connection with 15-year-old's stabbing death on Vancouver's West Side

      Medical staff were unable to save a teenage stabbing victim this weekend.

      The 15-year-old male died this afternoon in B.C. Children's Hospital, 24 hours after surgery was performed.

      The knifing occurred around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday (April 24) in Almond Park near Alma Street and West 13th Avenue in Vancouver.

      It occurred as two groups of teens were involved in an altercation, according to Vancouver police.

      A 14-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

      Under the Youth Criminal justice Act, both the victim and the suspect cannot be identified.
