The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) stated in a news release issued today (June 28) that IHIT, Richmond RCMP, Integrated Forensic Identification Section, and the B.C. Coroners Service are working to confirm the identity of the two individuals who were found dead at a residence near Barnard Drive and Westminster Highway in Richmond on June 25.
According to IHIT, one of the individuals was the victim of a homicide. IHIT also stated that it was an isolated incident, and that it is unrelated to the ongoing Lower Mainland gang conflict.
IHIT Sgt. David Lee stated that investigators are not searching for any outstanding suspects.

A homicide investigation is underway after two shooting victims died in Richmond last night.
Richmond RCMP stated in a news release issued today (June 26) that officers responded to a report about two victims suffering from gunshot wounds around 8:40 p.m. on June 25.
Police located the two victims in the area of Westminster Highway and Barnard Drive in Richmond. Both victims have died. Their identities and ages have not been disclosed by police.
Officers secured the area and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called in.
Richmond RCMP stated that “there is no concern for public safety” but did not state if there have been any connections established to the ongoing Lower Mainland gang conflict.
Investigators are gathering evidence and no further information is being provided at this time.
