There's yet another serious issue arising from recent massive flooding in Abbotsford and other areas.

The Ministry of Health has warned those who own or are responsible for private wells that these sources of drinking water "may be at increased risk of contamination".

"This is due to potential overflow or failures of liquid manure storage systems because of high precipitation caused by recent storms," a statement on the Fraser Valley Regional District website says.

To learn more about this issue, well owners are being encouraged to contact Fraser Health or First Nations Health authorities.
