The area around Canada Line’s King Edward Station is one of the fast growing transit-oriented neighbourhoods in Vancouver.

In addition to rapid transit, the place is serviced by buses on King Edward Avenue and Cambie Street.

A new multi-family residential project is going to contribute to the evolution of the neighbourhood, adding a total of 36 homes.

A development permit application has been filed for the site at the southeast corner of King Edward Avenue and Ash Street.

The location is a block west of the King Edward Station, which is about a five-minute walk.

“The increased density within this transit oriented neighbourhood supports the City’s sustainability goals and the Cambie Corridor Plan,” according to the design rationale for the 4128 Ash Street project.

The development will feature a four-storey building with 31 condo units, and five townhouses at the lane.

On November 5, 2019, city council approved an application to rezone the property, which had 582-588 West King Edward Avenue as its address at the time, from a one-family dwelling district to comprehensive development.

The development site assembled two single-family lots.

The rezoning application was filed on behalf of Aragon (Cambie Station) Properties Ltd.

Aragon is also the developer of another multi-family residential project kitty-corner across King Edward Avenue, which is called Amber.

The 4128 Ash Street development is branded as Cambie Station.
