Occupants at a Downtown Vancouver office tower are going to have even more exquisite views of the water and mountains.

As part of renovations for 333 Seymour, a rooftop amenity has been proposed for the 17-storey building.

The space is part of a development application filed by Perkins and Will Canada Architects Co. for the PCI Developments property.

Located on the southeast corner of Cordova and Seymour streets, the building already features water views.

It is across the Waterfront Station, and the Burrard Inlet waterfront.

A block to the east is Gastown.

The development application also covers a cladding upgrade on levels three to 17 to improve the building envelope.

The project’s design rationale notes that the north-facing side of the rooftop will be converted to an amenity space.

“The siting of the terrace takes advantage of the views towards the waterfront and the north shore mountains,” according to the document.

Around 3,000 square metres will be used for a “partial interior/exterior rooftop terrace”.

This new feature will include a refreshed elevator foyer, washrooms, kitchenette and lounge with  operable glass walls, and outdoor terrace.

In March 2019, Vancouver city council approved a rezoning application by PCI Developments to amend its comprehensive development zoning.

The change was meant to allow improvements on levels one and two of 333 Seymour.

The updates include fitness amenities, additional retail, public realm enhancement, and additional office area.
