Vancouver police arrest suspect and accomplice in connection with hit-and-run fatality in Kitsilano

      Two South Vancouver residents have been taken into custody in connection with the death of a pedestrian on Sunday (June 19) night.

      The man was crossing West 4th Avenue with a friend around 11:30 p.m. when he was struck by a late-model grey sedan allegedly travelling at a high speed..

      The driver left the scene as bystanders tried to help the victim.

      Police have not released the name of the 25-year-old whom they believe was behind the wheel.

      A 63-year-old family member has also been arrested as police investigate whether he was an accomplice after the collision.
