A man released by cops for breaking a window on Wednesday (November 3) allegedly committed the same offence later in the day.

Vancouver police say the second incident occurred on Davie Street, where a man tossed a rock through a store window.

A witness called 9-1-1 and kept watching the suspect until police arrived.

It turned out that he was the same person arrested for a similar crime near Robson and Bute streets.

He's also a suspect in a dozens of other incidents of mischief in downtown Vancouver, according to a VPD news release.

The 50-year-old man is in jail.

“In September, VPD redeployed officers throughout the downtown core in response to community concerns about rising crime and public safety,” Sgt. Steve Addison said in the police statement. “Though we still have work to do, those efforts are now showing results.”
