Vancouver police release video of man who was kidnapped on West Side
Jeffrey Lee was walking on a quiet street when he was abducted and taken to an unknown location, according to the VPD
Vancouver police are searching for a man whom they say was abducted last month.
Jeffrey Lee, 33, was last seen by his girlfriend around 10 p.m. on September 23 when he left her apartment.
He travelled in his black BMW to the Oakridge area to go gambling.
Surveillance video revealed that Lee entered a high-rise in the area after parking his vehicle near West 41st Avenue and Elizabeth Street.
He left before 4 a.m. on September 24. The VPD believes he was kidnapped on the way back to his car.
“The black BMW was located the next day with the driver-side door wide open, and we believe whoever kidnapped Mr. Lee did so as he was getting in his vehicle,” Sgt. Steve Addison said in a VPD news release. “Although we’ve gathered a significant amount of evidence during the past four weeks and feel we are close to solving this case, there are still people with information who need to come forward.”
Lee was wearing a black Hugo Boss hoodie, black shorts, flip-flops, and a grey shoulder bag.
“We believe Jeffrey Lee was abducted by force and taken to an unknown location,” Addison said. “We don’t know exactly why he was kidnapped, but we know there are people out there who have information, and we’re asking them to come forward now.”
Anyone with knowledge of the circumstances of Lee's disappearance is being encouraged to call the major-crimes squad at 604-717-2541.
