Two women called 9-1-1 on Saturday (May 14), reporting that they were groped by a stranger near the Vancouver Art Gallery.

The incidents occurred within minutes of one another in the afternoon, according to Vancouver police.

“Their quick thinking, and help from an alert witness, helped VPD officers track the suspect and quickly take him into custody," Sgt. Steve Addison said in a news release today (May 16).

One of the victims, a 29-year-old woman, was near the corner of the busy intersection of Howe and West Georgia Street when the incident occurred.

The other victim, a 24-year-old woman, was near West Georgia and Thurlow streets just three blocks away when she was targeted.

Tyrel Delorme, 23, faces two counts of sexual assault.

None of the Crown's allegations against him have been proven in court.
