The Filipino community is shocked and saddened with the death of Maria Cecilia Loreto.
The 49-year-old woman is believed to have been murdered at her New Westminster home, and her body burned at a Burnaby park.
Loreto was well known in the Filipino community as a generous volunteer and active participant in various events.
Her brother Armand Perez posted a video honouring her memory.
