      Kamala Harris already has a new nickname—MVP—now that she's taken the oath of office.

      MVP is, of course, Madam Vice President.

      The former senator from California and former state attorney general was sworn in today by Supreme Court Justice Sonia Satomayor. Check out the video below.

      In honour of this historic moment, the Golden State Warriors from her hometown of Oakland tweeted a message that ends with the MVP chant.

      Harris has always given credit to her mother, Shyamala Gopalan Harris, and other women who've paved the way for this moment.

      But before you think Harris is all sweetness and smiles, keep in mind that she can be tough. That was reflected in her interrogation of Brett Kavanaugh before he was appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court.

      Then senator Kamala Harris grilled Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh last year before he was later confirmed by the Republican-controlled Senate.

      Today's inauguration also had some star power, with Lady Gaga singing the national anthem. You can hear it in the video below.
