Sole

A petty thief in Rome, teenaged Ermanno (Claudio Segaluscio) has his life altered when he encounters the pregnant Lena (Sandra Drzymalska), a teen from Poland wanting to sell her unborn baby. The two pose as a married couple in order to allow Ermanno’s aunt and uncle to adopt - but when the baby, Sole, is born, Ermanno has second thoughts… Influenced by the Dardennes, first-time director Carlo Sironi has crafted a quietly poignant take on politics, family, and humanist values in constant conflict.
