Kinsey Begets New Secrets

Fundamentalists on America's far right are getting their metaphorical turbans in a knot over the release of Kinsey, the new film with Liam Neeson as the biologist who revolutionized American attitudes toward sex. Boycotts planned across the U.S. are sure to increase later video rentals among the Fox News crowd. Sounds like it's time for another revolution.

Meanwhile, back in Canada, common sense and hot have found a way to coexist, as seen in Secrets, a one-hour documentary due to air on CBC next spring. Trish Williams and her Vancouver-based company Make Believe Media launched the project with a Kinsey-like survey on-line, at www.secretsthefilm.com/. They then decided to focus on four teenagers who participated, following them as they enter the secret (unless they own TVs) world of adulthood. It will be directed by Arlene Ami, best known for her work on Say I Do and Army of One.
