For some, Friday (July 8) will be remembered as the day without the Internet.

For others, it meant no access to bank machines or any ability to pay for taxis, groceries, or tickets to arts and entertainment events.

Even a Starbucks coffee was out of the question if you didn't have cash on hand, let alone a visit to a Weeknd concert in Toronto.

Today, however, is a new day. And according to Rogers, the telecommunications giant has managed to restore services to the vast majority of its customers.

One of the company's rivals, Telus, couldn't resist an opportunity to let people know that its network was running on Friday.
