Sony's PS5 future-of-gaming demo shows off its upcoming releases and console design

      On June 11, Sony streamed a cavalcade of games that will be coming to the new PS5 console once it's released (and beyond). Although the broadacast looked good on YouTube, one couldn't see the full beauty of what the PS5 will bring because YouTube runs at 1080p resolution and PS5 will look it's best at 4k Ultra.

      At the top of the show, they showed off the crown jewel on Playstation, Grand Theft Auto. They mentioned that the game will be expanded and enhanced when it comes to PS5 in 2021 and owners will get GTA online for free at launch. Players that own GTA V on PS4 will recieve $1M in GTA cash every month until GTA V launches on the PS5.

      Next up, viewers were treated to trailers and game play from upcoming releases, including some familair titles as well as a lot of new franchises: Gran Turismo 7, Ratchet and Clank—Rift Apart, Project Atheia, Stray, Returnal, Sackboy—A Big Adventure, Destruction All Stars, Goodbye Volcano High, Oddworld Soulstorm, Ghostwire, Jett—Outer space, Godfall, Solar Ash, Hitman III—Death Awaits, Astros Playroom, Little Devil Inside, NBA2K 2021, Bugsnax, Demon’s Souls, and Village—Resident Evil.

      Below are a couple of real standouts.

      A Playstation exclusive, Horizon—Forbidden West, features Aloy, who sets out in postapocaylptic America and has to solve the mysteries of the catastrophe.

      In Deathloop, assassins are stuck in a loop constantly trying to kill each other. It's up to you to break the cycle.

      Spider-Man—Miles Morales is the next web-slinging title to come out in 2020 and looks real slick.

      Pragmata features an astronaut fighting with unkown powers that have taken over Earth. This new and mysterious game by Capcom won't be out until 2022.

      The console looks very sleek and unique. The white casing with rounded corners surround the black box, and when it's standing up, it looks like a gaming trophy. The console boasts 4k ultra Bluray, 8-core AMD Zen 2, variable frequency (up to 3.5 GHz), custom AMD RDNA 2, and variable frequency (up to 2.23 GHz).  The DualSense controller has a new design as well as new features like haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, headset jack, and a built-in microphone array. Sony is also releasing a “digital” version of the PS5 without a disc drive.

      No cost or release date was set, but the demo showed great promise for the next generation of console gaming.
