The 20th Anniversary of FaceFest, Fundraiser for & Celebration
of Faceplant, legendary East Vancouver rehearsal studio,
serving the community since 1992. The first band
party/fundraiser was held in 1996 and the annual celebration
continues uninterrupted, this year on Saturday, October 3rd,
and once more at the WISE Hall. Approximately 20 professional
and budding bands/artists will perform, starting at 7pm.
Over the years FaceFest has truly become a 'friends and
neighbours' event. Many of the performers have appeared at
multiple FaceFests and although some of the bands practice at
other local studios, they are welcome and enthusiastic participants.
This year's landmark lineup includes, among many other very
notable artists:

Evan Symons, legendary B.C. underground musician and integral
Faceplant persona since inception, has performed solo and in
bands Uneven Steps* and Seventh Image* in Facefests since the
second one in 1997.

Shannon Hallett (singer and/or drummer in Shrimpmeat*, Sanne
Lambert Trio*, Betty Kracker*, Arthur Ellis 2000) and
co-founder of the event with mr. e plant, returns
to Vancouver from Gatineau, QC. She performs again with Trevor
Thompson of electronic The Rain & the Sidewalk (also in Betty
Kracker) for her first FaceFest since 2010.

Nick Venditti, aka Nevada Santiago, El Furioso, Huskee Dude*
(Sex in Sweden*, Betty Kracker*, Aging Youth Gang*, The
Strugglers* etc.),performed in Slackjaw at the first event 20
years ago. Nick will play an acoustic set downstairs as Gnick
Gnash and returns with to the main stage with his band Gnash
Rambler featuring Dave Shannon (Ettinger) & drummer Brad
Mitchell (Facepuller*, Jello Biafra, also Arthur Ellis 2000
with Shannon H.).

Greg and David Hathaway (founders of Roots Roundup,
Dubfreque*, The Hathaways) bring roots reggae to the event
once more with The Fabulous Rootabeggas.
Rich Hopkins (Motorama*, The Strugglers*) returns with his
band Orchard Pinkish and his Horny Hands, and is in the The Hay Dolls.
Rich Katynski (Waltz Darling*) returns with Gold Stars are for
Suckers and is also a Horny Hand. Rich K. is the designer of
Faceplant's awesome new logo.

Bassist Ryan K. Schmidt (Salmon Arm*, Motorama*, Betty
Kracker*) returns with Sean Maschmann (Bacon*) in their
juggernaut Tarantula Head.

Once again we welcome the Ford Pier Vengenance Trio. Ford,
Brad Lambert and Eric Napier are just...huge. Ford alone has
simply appeared in too many famous bands to list here.
