Book Launch: Cosmophilia by Rahat Kurd
Heartwood Community Cafe, 317 E. Broadway, Vancouver Rahat Kurd launches her debut collection of poetry, Cosmophilia, at the Heartwood Community Café in Vancouver, BC.
Doors open at 7:30 PM, readings begin at 8:00 – but you are invited to come early and have a tasty meal at the Heartwood before the launch!

COSMOPHILIA reflects multiple glittering facets of Muslim culture from the immediacy of restless urban experience.
The poems in this emotionally powerful collection follow unexpected turns of the poet’s imagination through family history, political conflict, art, and religious imagery.
RAHAT KURD writes poetry and prose in Vancouver, Coast Salish Territories. Her writing on politics and the arts has appeared in The Walrus, Maisonneuve, and several other Canadian magazines. Her poem sequence "Seven Stones for Jamarat" was a finalist for the 2014 Gwendolyn MacEwen Poetry Prize.
