This is an event to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the end of the Asia-Pacific War. We will have a special guest speaker from Japan, Nobuyoshi Takashima, Professor Emeritus of the University of Ryukyus(Okinawa) and textbook author, to talk to us about his and his colleagues' four decades of research, education, and publication work on the history of Imperial Japanese Army's massacre of Chinese residents in Malaysia and Singapore during the Japanese occupation (1941-45), as an example of grass-roots peace and reconciliation building in the Asia-Pacific region.
