Inner Workings, (2016)

Visual Space Gallery is pleased to present Jeremy Isao Speier: Inner Workings [Selected Works 1980s to present], (2016) a survey exhibition of selected works from 1989 to 2016. The exhibition is comprised of early prints, large sculpture, assemblage, kinetics, and drawings. The exhibit highlights Speier's diverse and dynamic interdisciplinary practice and his interest in the crossing over and blending of different mediums confusing sculpture, painting, kinetics, and film as not a singular medium but as multilayered combinations. The works are bold and volumetric in the early stages but more distilled, tempered and formalized, later on. The exhibition will trace a texture and contour of Speier's work with many counterpoints and contrasts but also draw lines that converge. Inner Workings, is curated by Yukiko Onley.
