Street Fighter IV hits shelves February 2009

A release date has finally been set for console versions of Capcom’s
Street Fighter IV.

The highly anticipated game will be released on February 17, 2009, for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Arriving nearly ten years after the last Street Fighter title was published, Street Fighter IV introduces impressive 3-D graphics to give the franchise a new look. However, the latest installment stays true to its roots by maintaining 2-D game play.

There will also be a roster of about 26 playable characters, featuring all of the series’ well-known faces as well as a few new ones.

Currently, Street Fighter IV is only playable in Japanese arcades, but some of the arcade machines have been imported to North America.

There are only four Street Fighter IV arcade machines in Canada, three of which are in the Lower Mainland.
