17 000 douchebags celebrating a bloody fight like a bunch of animals. first Nickelback at GM,now this...the smell of Hugo Boss and right guard will never go away. ed Hardy and Affliction will litter the aisles for months to come....this is no different than watching a bunch of surrey losers fight on Granville after the bar closes, except this one makes shit loads of money for more douchebags.

The International Village was beseiged by agressive, drunken louts most of the day and evening yesterday, harassing residents and shops. Last night, two men were attacked and brutally beaten right up on the steps of the Firenze building, on their own property, in a vicious gaybashing. The police need to investigate this as a hate crime, and preserve all video footage from nearby buildings as evidence from a crime scene. Those responsible should face the full force and fury of the law.

Where was the extra neighbourhood security provided by the UFC for a notoriously violent event? Where were the police to keep order in a neighbourhood overrun by drunks?

Our community will not allow another UFC event in this area again, after the horrific experiences we went through yesterday.

never ceases to amaze me all the people who bash on this sport...stop watching it if you don't like it. you are almost as bad as the so called 'fans' who don't take the time to research the fighters and mma in general. grappling is part of mma, so get used to it.
as for ufc 115, congratulations to Rich Franklin on his big ko. Chuck Liddell is a legend, and will be missed in the octagon

This has got to be the most homoerotic public activity in Metro Vancouver...

I always laugh at the douches who think they are tougher than they are because they watch UFC.

      Knows Better Than Knows Better

Sorry Knows Better, cry all you want the event was a success. UFC is global so those animals and douchebags you talk about are actually distributed far afield no matter what. Even before this event was announced I'd already seen tons of Ed Hardy and Afflication (and Tapout) attire on people and the scents of Right Guard and Hugo Boss are present in many art galleries and fine restaurants as well.

We all know you don't have the cojones to actually say that to someone's face so please stop trolling.

I always laugh at the douches who try to make their stand on an anonymous comment board for a newspaper.

      hmmm?

I'm not a fan of this sport. But if people think UFC is violent and should be banned based upon the "type" of the crowd drawn to the sport, what about boxing, hockey or football? Louts will act as louts regardless of type of sports and type of identity they associate with.

But I do agree more policing is needed in any type of event with anticipation of rowdy crowds.
