"Dead" bin Laden photo will likely spawn more conspiracy theories

It looks gory and very authentic.

No wonder this photo of what looks like a dead Osama bin Laden is being passed around over the Internet.

However, this one appeared in 2009 on the website of the People's Voice.

This came after a claim by Pakistani president Asif Ali Zardari in 2009 that there was little information to suggest that bin Laden was alive.

Nearly a year-and-a-half after that statement, Barack Obama said U.S. forces recently killed bin Laden not far from the Pakistani capital of Islamabad, where Zardari hangs out.

And the Americans say they took bin Laden's body in their custody as proof. CNN says the DNA from the corpse matches that of the Saudi mass murderer.

Bin Laden has been linked to more conspiracy theories than anyone else in this century with the possible exception of Dick Cheney.

Don't expect that to end with his death.

If President Obama has officially declared bin Laden dead, then it should be so in the record books.

We can only secretly wish that it was an elaborately "staged kidnapping" in which Osama is still alive and is now serving as a secret prisoner of war to be utilized for data and information extraction in the continuing hunt for other al Quadas. A secret kept from the Muslim and the Western world for the purpose of not inflaming sentiments.

Alas, that would be too much to hope for. Either way, American 9/11 Justice was Served.
