Standing against online spying: Weekly update from OpenMedia.ca

Every week, the people at OpenMedia.ca, a Vancouver-based nonprofit organization that advocates an open and affordable Internet, bring us up to date on Canada's telecom news and their campaigns.

This week, a cybersecurity expert confirmed that the data obtainable without a warrant under the online spying bill is enough to erode online anonymity, and to sweep up innocent people in its digital dragnet. But Canadian voices are finding their way to Parliament, and more of us are becoming engaged in this issue as the viral video at OpenMedia.ca spreads across the web.
