Sex Pistols set to return

Long-running U.K. music publication New Musical Express is spearheading a campaign to get the Sex Pistols' re-released single "God Save the Queen" to the top of the charts. According to NME.com: "The song was denied the top spot by the powers that be when it was originally released in 1977 because they didn't want the band's punk attitude interfering with the Queen's Jubilee that year. As the single is being reissued on seven-inch vinyl to celebrate its 30th anniversary, we are calling on all fans to buy or download it during the week beginning October 8 and hopefully we can send it back up the charts."

In related news, the band has decided to reunite for a one-off concert at London's Brixton Academy on November 8. This is, of course, not the first time the Pistols have re-formed: the pioneering punks toured in 1996 and got together again in 2002 and 2003.
