The Firehall Arts Centre presents Drew Hayden Taylor’s play, God and the Indian, from April 10 to 20 at the Firehall Arts Centre (280 East Cordova Street). Performances start at 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Saturdays, 2 p.m. on Sunday, and 1 p.m. on Wednesdays. Additionally, half-priced previews take place from April 6 to 9.

God and the Indian follows the relationship between a Cree woman and an Anglican assistant bishop after she confronts him about her experience at a residential school 40 years later. The powerful play asks audiences whether wounds so deep can heal and how trust and power interact.

The play directed by Renae Morriseau stars Tantoo Cardinal and Michael Kopsa, with set and lighting design by Lauchlin Johnston, costumes by Alex Danard, artistic direction by Donna Spencer, and stage management by Robin Richardson.

Tickets start are $12 to $30 and can be purchased online, by phone at 604-689-0926, or at the Firehall box office.
