The Georgia Straight proudly sponsors the Vetta Chamber Music 30th Anniversary Season

      On November 26 and 27, Vetta Chamber Music's 30th anniversary season kicks off with Introducing the Next Generation at the West Point Grey United Church (4595 W. 8th).

      In the premiere concert, pianist Talisa Blackman, violinist Joan Blackman, and cellist Marlena Tureski will perform works by Prokfiev, Bridge, Bloch, and Dvorak.

      Following that will be 20th Century Music to Love, which takes place January 21 and 22 at the West Point Grey United Church. Pianist Jane Hayes, clarinetist Francois Houle, and violinist Joan Blackman will perform music by Stravinsky, Khatchaturian, Kodály, and Schoenfield.

      On March 10 and 11, the West Point Grey United Church will host Powerhouse Strings, in which violinists Joan Blackman and David Gillham, viola players Nicolò Eugelmi and David Harding, and cellists Eugene Osadchy and Paula Kiffner perform classics by Mozart and Schoenberg.

      Next concert Vetta at ArtSpring takes place April 27 at Art Spring (100 Jackson Avenue, Salt Spring Island). Violinists Joan Blackman, Jennie Press, and David Gillham, violist Tawnya Popoff, cellist Zoltan Rozsnyai, bassist Dylan Palmer, and harpsichordist Michael Jarvis will perform works by Vivaldi and Ryan.

      Seasons will take place April 28 and 29 at the West Point Grey United Church. Violinists Joan Blackman, Jennie Press, and David Gillham, violist Tawnya Popoff, cellist Zoltan Rozsnyai, bassist Dylan Palmer, and harpsichordist Michael Jarvis will perform works by Vivaldi and Ryan.

      The seasons finale concert takes place May 27 at Christ Church Cathedral (690 Burrard). Guest pianist Angela Cheng and the Vetta Chamber Players will end the season with music by Schubert, Mozart, and Brahms.
