Homeless in Vancouver: The paper called for rain and guess what?

As I read the forecast for rain today in this morning’s daily newspaper, I could already see that the grey clouds were giving way to blue sky.

By the time I finished my breakfast it was brilliantly sunny day.

There was a pleasant breeze and the only clouds to be seen were the dry Sauvignon Blanc variety.

The rain finally did come at around 1 p.m. in the afternoon—I was riding through the alley on the east side of South Granville.

It was very short-lived and remarkably localized. But it did rain and thanks to my daily newspaper I was ready for it.

Hopefully this will answer those who scoff, not just at the idea of daily newspapers in the Internet age, but at these periodicals having the gall to print weather forecasts that are already six hours out of date when they’re hot off the press.
