Marijuana activist Dana Larsen encourages NDP Leader Tom Mulcair to visit his hempy hospitality suite

It's been a rough week for cannabis advocate Dana Larsen.

He was released on $1,000 bail in Calgary after being charged with possession and trafficking of marijuana.

His crime? Handing out pot seeds as part of a campaign to grow the plant on public property across the country.

Larsen has also been prohibited from possessing cannabis or its seeds except where he works (Vancouver Medicinal Cannabis Dispensary Service).

But the charges and the bail conditions haven't slowed him down. A former candidate for the B.C. NDP leadership, Larsen is at the federal convention in Edmonton, where he's trying to whip up delegates' support for legalization of cannabis.

Today, he tweeted a photo of himself with NDP Leader Tom Mulcair.

"I hope he comes by my hempy hospitality suite!" Larsen stated.

Earlier today, Larsen tweeted his belief that had Mulcair endorsed marijuana legalization, he would have become prime minister.

Tomorrow, Mulcair will find out what percentage of NDP delegates want him to remain as federal leader.
